A graduate of Tulane University
Medical School, Dr. Cooke is certified by the American Board of Internal
Medicine and also has Physician Certification in Acupuncture in New York
State. Dr. Cooke was recently honored with election to Fellowship in the
American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine. For over twelve years she worked in the demanding field of emergency medicine. Five of those years were spent in one of New York City’s busiest ERs. She has cared for over 20,000 patients in the acute care setting. She currently holds an appointment as Assistant in Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s Columbia division. She has served as Clinical Preceptor both in Physical Diagnosis at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and in Acupuncture to the UCLA School of Medicine’s Medical Acupuncture for Physicians course. Dr. Cooke is also an Aviation Medical Examiner certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and holds a Master’s in Public Health from Tulane University with seven years of occupational health experience. Dr. Cooke maintains close contacts with many practitioners, both conventional and alternative, and will make appropriate referral for a range of treatments including orthopedics, gynecology, psychotherapy, massage, or Alexander technique. Dr. Cooke speaks French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. |
